Crazy Rich Asians tells the story of Games Online dan Offline Rachel Chu, a Chinese-American economics professor who had an affair with a man named Nick Young. They traveled to Singapore to introduce Rachel to Nick’s family. But the trip made Rachel realize that her lover was one of the richest family children in Asia. When meeting with his family, Nick’s mother, Eleanor did not agree with Rachel’s presence because of her social status which was considered different from her. Nick will be forced to choose between Rachel or his family.
This film does not only talk about ordinary romance conflicts. Crazy Rich Asians showcases various Asian cultures that are instilled and maintained in a family. Parents who are considered to know the future of their children to have to intervene to give their best are also one of the stories featured in this film.
