Narrated in this film two (2) lovebirds were brought together in a hospital. Stella and Will seem to have been destined to meet because they both have Cystic Fibrosis. A genetic disorder that causes the mucus in their body to become thick and sticky, thus clogging various channels, especially the respiratory tract.
They are prohibited from being close together because of the potential to transmit bacteria to each other which can lead to death. Then the closest distance allowed between the two is as far as 1.8 meters. But the name is love, the more it is forbidden, the more it creates strong feelings between the two. Making Will, who was previously pessimistic, again has the determination to recover, and so does Stella.
Overall the film is not only focused on the unique love story between people with Cystic Fibrosis. But in it there is also a story of friendship and family.
